How Your 4D Plates Are Made.

The creation of your 4D reg plates involves a precise and meticulous process. Firstly, a reflective backing film is first applied to a blank acrylic plate. Then the characters are laser cut from acrylic sheets to within an accuracy of one-tenth of a millimetre and are bonded to the surface of the number plate using a custom made jig to position them with proper alignment and spacing. This ensures long-lasting and durable plates that comply with the rules, while giving a true “4D” raised effect.

Are 4D Plates Road Legal?

How long does it take to receive my order

Orders placed before 3 pm are despatched the same day (Mon-Fri). Delivery depends on which shipping method you use on checkout. Delivery is typically 1-2 working days by Royal Mail.

Can I add my own badges, logos, or slogans

Number plates are regulated so customisation is limited. Our builder will allow you to customise all the available options as much as they can be customised and personalised.

Can I choose the spacing of my characters

In-line with regulations, the spacing or your registration number must comply with the legal requirements. We will automatically space your registration to road legal requirements.

Are 4D Plates Legal

Yes, they are fully road legal and compliant to the regulations and British standards (BSAU145e & BSAU145d).

I'm looking for some tintend plates, are they available

Tinted plates are not road legal as they reduce luminance and reflectivity, so are not available.

What size plates are available

We currently offer the standard UK oblong, 4x4 square, and oversized oblong.

Are documents required when ordering

There is a document check in-line with regulations. Proof of registration and identity are required with your purchase.

What makes a number plate 4D

To make a number plate a '4D' plate, we manufacture the characters from 3 mm and 5 mm acrylic and bond them to the surface of the plate. Contrast this to normal plates that have printed-on characters.
